I too was born in a Sheridan Nurseries house on the Town Line on Feb 24, 1926. The house was on the NW corner of the Town Line (Winston Churchill Blvd) and the Lower Middle Road. It is known as the Hammond House* (see photo). My mother was born in Liverpool England in 1883 and became a nurse, midwife and then lieutenant nurse in the British Army. I was born on the dining room table.

I escaped from Oakville High School in April 1944 and joined the RCAF together with Jack Wilson and George Hagey. George was dating Georgia Ryrie (who we went to SS12 school with). Her father was S.L. Ryrie and CO of the recruiting center in Hamilton. Jack was selected for WAG and George got pilot. Of course we all wanted pilot. I knew Morse (my sister Leonie was RCAF WD wog wireless operator ground). I didn't want WAG and I knew there was a surplus of pilots so I asked for Flight Engineer and got it. George was scrubbed from pilot training and switched to AG.
