Or Is It The U.F.O. ? There is really not much that is new' abnut the diVdlopment of Pheasant Inland at Eugenia. The promoters are still silent as to their identity. ' We do nut yet know whether to class it as a Hydro or U. F. 0. movement. The manager the pheasant expejt is, we believe, .a native of London, Eng'and, by the name of Johnston, This gentle- man ;i ;.-:, we are informed, been down south for a ceuple of weeks presumably in Georgia also presumably looking for uew museum attractions or monstrocities. As we have remarked, it is not yet known whether to credit the development of Pheasant Island lo the Hydro or the F. O. No matter which, it is paid for out of publi money and the public should know who is milking it. If it is me and tisheries department, the thing it financed by the whole province ; if the Hydro, it is p\\d for by the users of Eugenia Dower. Where is Pheasant Island* Well, it is an are* of about 50 acres, brought into being as an island by the hydro develop- ment at Eugenia, an.l lies on the east side of thn big pond at Eugenia, just a mile and a quarter east of Hie village, and across the water. The Hydr made a park in the village a few years ago, built a nice pavillion and strung the park with lights. Although this was all paid for by the system there was no kick coming, becausa Hugenia was entitled to this consideration and more. They also should have had tho pheasantry established in this park. Instead, it is perchsd on an island a mile and a quarter away and utterly inaccessible to sight- seers. Incidentally we might say that for two 01 three years the cost of lighting the Eugenia park was charged up to the village of Flesherton alone, instead of to the whole system, until finally our village council made the Hydro come actoss with a lefund. Flesherton feels that it has been hardly used by Hydro, just as have many other places, and also feels that it has been luaningon a btoken reed when it expected Hydro to act fairly. There are also some other in- stances we could name, where this con- cern has acted in a manner that makes the word " unfairly " a weak term. However, if Hydro in not guilty of add.ng this pheastntry aud rtnimtii show tiour expense account, the U.F.O. government must be hold responsible, Knd there is a way of getting after them. We have repeatedly heard the member for South Grey stata almost tearfully tht he was ex'remoly desirous ot "Keep ing in touch " wi'h h : s constituent!.
