Store closes Tues.. and Fri. evening Kimberley Hotel Destroyed By Fire The hotel and stables at Kimberley, Conducted by Mr. Oliver Irwin, were totally destroyed by fire early Thursday morning last, being first notftcd about 1.30 a.m. *fhe roaring of the flames, which started in the kitchen of the hotel, awakened Mrs. Irwin, who roused the inmates. 1 here was barely time for all to escape, without saving any of the household goods. A boarder threw his trunk out of the window and followed it himself. 'Ihe live stock i.i the stable was saved. Mr. and Mrs Irwin lose everything they own as there was no insurance on the contents. We have not heard whether ihe buildings ; were insured. The origin of the fire is | a complete mystery. Uuch sympathy is expressed for Mr. ' and Mrs. Irwin, who were ideal hosts | and popular with the travelling public. The burned bropcrty was owned by Or. !'. A. It was a fine display to determination to win on Flcsherton's part and although with a handicap of 7 to at the beginning of the third inning won the game by two runs. Several real bad errors and some good clouts allowed the Vans to secure thre run* in the first four in the second, two in the sixth and were blanked in the rest of the inning*. Mountain pitched real good game and after the second inning was practically air tight. Only tor a misjudgment on the part of the local catcher in throwing to first in the sixth Vandeleur would have been blank- ed. Flesherton Greys are well away in the race with two wins to their credit, although only one garni: has bcn played, the other being a default by .Markdale, Mcsherton has a sweet little team right now and as the season advances should improve immensely.
