Regarding Mr.. Jennings statement, which appeared in last week's issue of The Advance regard- ing the statue on the monument, also remarks made on equipment of same, we might say that we hope to have official authority on the matter and will give statement or account of game as soon as it comes to hand. MISSIONARY QUILTING A missionary quilting was held at the home of Mrs. J. Campbell on Wednesday of the past week, when the ladies of the neighborhood spent a pleasant afternoon together and got a fine quilt fininshed for the mis- sionary bale. Mrs. Campbell served tea and altogether a very enjoyable time was spent. LOST BABY GIRL Our deepest sympathy goes put to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jamieson in the loss of their baby girl, who passed away this Monday morning. Successful At School We are pleased to congratulate Miss Pearl Latimer on the success she has attained on the recent exams in Flesherton High School, where she took third and fourth form work in on ten subjects out of twelve, failing only in one subject, which she will have to write off at Owen Sound. Surveying For Pipe Line Mr. A. D. Heather, H.E.P.C. engin- eer is surveying the site of the new pipe line at present, and it is expected that work will commence on same in the course of the next month Dr. and Mrs. Norman Douglas and children of Owen Sound also Mrs. Hutchinson of Toronto were the guests of Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. A. j Smith the past week. Miss Carr, Mrs. McMullen and Miss Millie spent the week end in Kimber- ley, guests of Mrs. Mammond and Mrs. Stuart. Miss Jennie Ellis of Orangeville is visiting with her friend, Mrs. Fred Pedlar. ! Mr. and Mrs. Pedlar, Miss Ellis and Miss Georgina Smith motored to Mea- ford and spent the week end with Mrs. Pedlar s motherand sister there. Mr. and Mrs. A. Sims of Alliston were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. Lat- imer on Saturday of the past week , Guests at Will Gordon's the past week were: Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gordon and Mr. and Mrs. Crawford of Hamil- ton, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Vannatter of Georgetown, Roy Vannatter of Ver- wood, Sask., Elmira Vannatter and Mrs. Beswick of Acton. Mr. and Mrs Gordon also entertained a camping party among whom were: Roy and Earl Vannatter and Miss Mary of Georgetown, Miss McGlaughlin of Acton, also Miss Blickensterner of Mexico. Mrs. Munshaw and grandson, Fred Large, have gone to the city for a fortnights' visit. Miss Jean \AJright of Vandeleur is a guest of her friend ,Mrs. Large, this week. . Miss Wright, Mrs. Large and child- ren visited with Mrs. A. W. Rowe of Dundalk on Monday. We are pleased to report both Mr. Turner and Mr. Walker feeling some little better. Mr. and Mrs. Evans and son, Nel- son, of Owen Sound were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Foester over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Evans and son and Mr. and Mrs. Foester spent a day at Wasaga. Miss Mabel Guy, Messrs George and Roy Thompson visited with Mrs. Gordon the past week. Mr. nd Mrs. Thos. Genoe and child- ren of Flesherton were guests of Mrs. Turner and Mr. Thos. Genoe the past week. Miss Mabel Williams was also a guest of Mrs. Turner. Miss Eleanor Large, Miss Sherman, Miss Kilburn and Miss Ritchie of Owen Sound, accompanied by Mr. Allan Marcott of Leamington were guests of Mrs. Largt on Sunday last. We understand that Mr. Basil Car- ruthers and Chas. Williams have gone to the West for the harvest. Mrs. Hoy has returned from visit- ing her sister, Mrs. Tuohy, Meaford. KIMBERLEY VANDELEUR Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Fawcett and son, Lloyd, are spending their holi- days with friends here. We were pleased to receive a pleasant visit from them. Mr. and Mrs. Tummins and daugh- ter of Toronto spent a few days visit- ing with Mrs. O. Irwin. Mr. and Mrs. B. Morgan and family of Eugenia visited with Mrs. Geo. Proctor one day last week. Miss Esther Magee of Toronto is visiting friends hen- Mr. C. Croskild is here looking after his bees, having bought out Mr. J. Plewis' whole apiary. Miss Rita Knott, Meaford, and her niece, Rita Briwn, Clarksburg, are visiting with their aunt, Mrs. M. R. Hammond. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dillon are spend- ing a two weeks' holiday in Muskoka. Mrs. Jaiper Stuart is holidaying in Toronto. Mrs. McMullen and Miss Millie and friend are caring for her home during her absence. We arc sorry to report the passing away of Mrs. Alex. Fawcett at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Wal- lace, at Orangeville. Our sympathy is extended to her aged partner, who was unable to be present with her. Mr. J. Plewis of Toronto visited over the week end with his father, Mr. J. Plewis. The shower for Mrs. Irwin was a success. Many useful articles were brought and a social time and lunch completed the evening. "The cup of tea" was excellent, made by Mrs. Irwin and her niece, Mrs. Tummins. In some localities constables have been taking the license and the num- ber plates from drivers of cars, who have been guilty of driving furiously and returning them to the depart- ment. It is really a more salutary lesson than a nominal fine. If mag- istrates, when aggravated cases are brought before them would mete out punishment like this there would be fewer motoring accidents, as fast driving is ninety-five per cent, cause of all trouble.
