Miss Jean Hincks and friend of Lisle and Miss Seth Hincks and friend of Atwood were week end visitors at their home here. Mr. Art Nichols was a visitor on Sunday with Stuart Carson. Mr. and Mrs. Alex. McLean of To- ronto were week end visitors with their parents. Mr. J. A. Brown and mother spent the first of the week in Toronto and were accompanied home by Miss E. Brown, who spent some time in Toronto. Miss Bernice Carson has returned home aftar a week's visit in Toronto. Wilkinson and Kenneth visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Breadner near Heatheote. Mr. and Mrs. Russell White spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Little. Miss Jean Lyons visited over the week end with her friend. Miss Evelyn Leppard. Mr. G. Malvin, Mrs. H, Johnson, Mr. J. Smith, Mrs. G. Gilliland of Eugenia vis- ited on Monday with his niece, Mrs. Chas. Newell. Mr. and Mrs. Laurie Betts and family visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Campbell of Eugenia. Mrs. R. Lee has returned to her home at Owen Sound, after visiting a few weeks with her sister, Mrs, D. Clark. Rev. C. McNicholl of the Gospel Workers' church, Feversham, will hold prayer meeting at the home of Thomas Betts on Friday evenling, June 9th. Canadians say it with cheers. And how. PROTON STATION We are extremely sorry to report that the home of neighbors, the Red- dicks, was completely destroyed by fire this Monday forenoon. The fam- ily consists of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reddick, their son, David, his wife and little daughter. All members of the family were out at the time and the fire had made considerable head- way before it was seen. Neighbors came at the first alarm and the Dua- dalk fire brigade also came, but it was too late to save the house. Almost all the contents of the house were burned, the young couple losing all their clothing except what they were wearing. The loss will be partially covered by insurance. The sympathy of the community goes out to this estimable family in their loss. Mr. George Marshall and family of Grand Haven, Mich,, also Mr. Wm. Marshall of Gorrie, Ont., visited at Mrs. John Carson's over the week end. Mrs. John Carson is visiting at Niagara Falls and London. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Wyville, accom- panied by Mr. and Mrs. Art Leslie and daughter, Fern, spent Sunday at the former's home here. Mr. Alfred Hincks and family of Priceville visited at the home of Mr. Neil McCannell.. Rev. H. B. Jackson has returned home from Ohio. Mrs. Norman Reddick is in her old position at Hill's store, Dundalk, while Norman is working at his old job with the King Paving Co. at North Bay for the summer. Mrs. N. R. McCannell visited her mother, Mrs. W. J. Talbot, at Wareham. Mr. Geo. Sherson is operating his saw mill with assistance of Arthur Hergott. Mr, and Mrs. Walter Broughton of Salem spent Sunday at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Stanley Lyons. Messrs. W. Dover and J. Neilson attended the funeral of the late Wm. H. Hales on Monday. Mr, and Mrs. James Lockhart and sons, Glen and Argyle, of Clinton were week end guests with Mrs. Lockhart's mother, Mrs. Corbett Sr., and other friends. Mrs. McNalty attended the mar- riage of her granddaughter. Mrs. James Vause of Dundalk was a welcome caller in Proton Station recently. Muir was in Owen Sound the first of the week, and was accom- panied home by Mr. and Mrs. Kellar, who have been patients in the G. & M. hospital there. Mr. Robt. Meads of Toronto visited his father and brother on Sunday. Little Ruth Huston of Oshawa is visiting her grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Peter Muir, and cousin, Marion McLeod. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Talbot and Elma spent Sunday at the home of George Udell, The Ladies' Aid held a well attended meeting on Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Geo. Snell, the president. The guest speaker was Mrs. A, S. Muir, who gave a very interesting talk on home missions. Mr. Frank CoUinson was in Chats- worth on Thursday. Friends in this community sympa- thize with Mr. Norman Hostrawser and family in their bereavement in the loss of their wife and mother, and also to the relatives of the late William Hales. Mr. F. D. Cairns of Eugenia spent Sunday at F. F. Colilnson's. Miss Marion Muir is teaching at Dromore. EUGENIA The Woman's Association is making preparations for a strawbeiTy festival to be held July 7. We understand Rev. Elliott, who is leaving the Maxwell circuit, is to be stationed at the Heatheote charge. We wish him every success in his new field. A party was held in the "hall on Friday evening in honor of the groom and bride, Mr. and Mrs. Haroid Turner, when a very pleasant time was spent in dancing and social chat. During the course of the evening an address was read by Mr. Ross Smith, on behalf of those present, and a pre- sentation made to the newlyweds of a breakfast table and chairs, by Messrs. Neil MacDonald, Cecil Magee, Earl Penwick and Fred Partridge, The groom made a neat reply, thanking all heartily for the useful gifts. We wish Harold and his bride many happy and prosperous years. Miss Erva Magee has returned from Toronto. Mrs. Large of Niagara Falls spent the week end at the Eugenia House, Her father, Mr. Peter Munshaw, re- turned home wtih her for a few days' visit. Mr. and Mrs. Will Pinkerton of Brantford have returned to their sum- mer home "Beaver Lodge" 8th line. Mr. Chas. Park spent the week end with his wife and daughter here. Mr. Thos. Fenwick of East Linton is visiting relatives here at present. Miss Janette Hass of Brantford is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pinkerton. Miss Joyce Genoe visited over the week end with her friend. Miss Lois Williams, 8th line. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Genoe, from near Kimberley, visited on Sunday with Mrs. Will Magee, who is ill. We hope that she may be well again soon, Mr. and Mrs. Will Campbell of To- ronto spent the week end at their summer residence in the village. Mr. W. McArthur spent the week end at his home in Tiverton. Mr. Harry LeGard of London and his father of Flesherton, visited a few hours on Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Magee and family. The Y.P.U. of Kimberley will be the guests of the Y.P.U. here on Wed- nesday evening and will provide the program. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Porteous visited friends in Toronto on Monday and Tuesday, thus celebrating the second anniversary of their wedding day.
