From our own correspondent.
In your last issue notice was made respecting the low condition of the Rev. W. Fitzsimmons, B.A., who has since died. From day to day during the past few weeks he had been rapidly sinking, and on Wednesday evening, 27th ult., his spirit quietly passed away. He was one of the few who possess that geniality and kindness of character which always win friends, and he was universally beloved and respected. He was a devoted student while attending college, passed his various examinations successfully, and has taken a large share of work as a probationer in the ministtry of the Presbyterian Church. Owing to his delicate health, however, he was unable to have his name placed upon the list for a call to the regular work. He preached his last sermon for his friend and class-mate, Rev. Mr. McGregor, of Tilsonburg, from the words. "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life." Rev. Mr. Strachan, pastor of the church here, conducted the funeral services, and was assisted by Rev's McGregor, McKay, McTavis and Argo. - Featured Link
