A Melancholy Occurrence.
On Tuesday morning of last week, Mr. T. H. Harding, merchant, received a telegram from Buffalo station that his brother, who was working in that city, was seriously ill. Mr. Harding immediately left for Buffalo to minister to the wants of his suffering brother, but by the time his destination was reached his brother had bid adieu to the things of this life. With a heavy heart Mr. Harding arranged for the transfer of the body from Buffalo, and arrived here the next day. Deceased was a carpenter, and had been working at his trade in the above city for some time. A few weeks ago he fell from a building, receiving injuries of a minor nature, to which he paid little attention. Inflammation ultimately set in, however, and before any of his friends from home could reach him death put an end to his sufferings. He was a son of Mr. Wm. Harding, of the 6th line, Esquesing, was 29 years of age, and was always a favorite with his companions. The funeral took place on Friday, and was very largely attended. The friends of the deceased have the sympathy of all in their sudden and heavy affliction.
