- Sudden Death of a Former Resident.
We regret that we have to record the sudden death of Mr. John Bradley, formerly a resident of Acton. About two months ago he removed with his son from Milton to Ryerson, Parry Sound. On the morning of the 18th ult. he appeared in usual health and spent the forenoon at a neighbor's. On his return home he took dinner, carried an armful of wood into the house, and on turning to go for another, fell, and instantly expired. The deceased was born at Burton, Agnes, Yorkshire, England, and emigrated to Ontario in 1851. He settled in Halton and resided here nearly thirty-five years; was educated at one of the old English grammar schools, and was a man of very extensive and varied information. He was a great conversationalist and occasionally a university man found him an unlooked for and rather too strong opponent, especially in chronological and historical matters. He was temporarily interred at Berrydale, but his remains will be removed to Milton and buried in the new cemetery, at an early date. - Featured Link
