Fletcher, Jeremiah

It is our sad duty to record the death of Mr. Jeremiah Fletcher, of Darbyville, who died on Thursday, June 15th, at the ripe age of 77 years. By his death Nassagaweya loses another old pioneer. Mr. Fletcher was born in Yorkshire, England, in August 1816, and came to Canada when quite young and settled in Nassagaweya. He was a devoted christian and held the office of trustee for the Ebenezer Methodist Church for many years. He leaves a wife and seven sons and six daughters. The remains were interred in the Ebenezer burying grounds on Saturday. The family have the deepest sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.
