Death of George Smith.
The sudden death of Mr. George Smith of Milton, which took place at Mr. G. C. Clark's hotel, Acton, last Wednesday evening, was received with great surprise. Mr. Smith came to attend the S. O. S. garden party last Tuesday, but toward night he was taken sick and removed to Mr. Clark's where he received good care, but nothing serious was anticipated until Wednesday, when it was readily perceived that life was fast ebbing away, and at nine o'clock it became extinct. Heart trouble was the immediate cause of his death. His remains were removed to his home at Milton early next morning, and the funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, under the direction of St. Clair Lodge, A. F. & A. M. He was also a member of the Foresters and the S. O. S. and had been mayor of Milton for 12 years. He was 57 years of age and leaves two sons and two daughters to mourn their loss.
