Died in Her 96th Year.
There died last Friday at the home of her son, Mr. Richard Lamb, lot 29, con. 6, Esquesing, probably the oldest resident of the township, in the person of Mary Finerty, widow of the late James Lamb. Mrs. Lamb was born in the County of Longford, Ireland, - the constituency at present represented by the Hon. Edward Blake in the British House of Commons - in the year 1797. In the year 1830 she came with her husband, whom she had married some years before, to America. One year was spent in the State of Main and the remaining 63 have been spent in Esquesing township, - 3 in Stewarttown, 9 at Silver Creek, and 51 on the homestead where she died. Her husband, the late James Lamb, preceded her to his eternal home nine years ago last October, at the extreme age of 98 years. They were devout Roman Catholics. The remains were interred last Sunday afternoon in the R. C. Cemetery.
