Death of an Old Resident.
On the 6th February last Mr. John H. Worden was stricken with paralysis, from which he never recovered sufficiently to leave his bed. Last week a second attack came, and he gradually sank until Monday morning death ended his sufferings. Mr. Worden has been an esteemed resident of this vicinity for over fifty years. He was born in Nova Scotia in 1812 and when but a lad removed to Upper Canada with his parents. They first settled on the sixth line Esquesing, but removed to lot 32, con. 2, the present homestead, forty five years ago. Deceased was the son of the late Israel J. Worden. He has been for many years an active member of the Baptist Church, with which his wife and three sons and two daughters are also connected. He was of a quiet disposition, and all who knew him had a kind word for him. He was always interested in his children's education, and was for some time a member of the Lorne School Board. The remains were interred yesterday afternoon in the family burying ground at the fifth line.
