DEATH OF MRS. YOUMANS.
Founder of Women's Christian Tem-
perance Unions Succumbs
After Years of Illness.
Mrs. Letitia Creighton Youmans, Hon. President of the W.C.T.U., and Canada's most prominent lady temperance worker, died on Saturday at her resident, 19 Metcalfe street, Toronto. Mrs. Yeomans had almost reached the allotted span of life, having been born Jan. 2, 1827, and being consequently in her 70th year. She was successfully identified with the Dunkin and Scott Act Campaigns throughout the Dominion.
A largely attended and impressive memorial survice to Mrs. Yeomans was held in Sherbourne Street Methodist Church Tuesday evening, when addresses were delivered by Mrs. A. G. Rutherford, president of the Dominion W.C.T.U., the Rev. Wm. Patterson, and Rev. Dr. parker.
