Death of John Clarridge From Ap-
pendicitis.
This community was shocked on Saturday last to hear of the death of Mr. John Clarridge of Terra Cotta. The deceased had been employed with Mr. James McDowell for some three weeks when he was taken down with appendicitis. An operation was performed on Wednesday last by Drs. Stuart, Nixon and Elliott. Although temporary relief was obtained, the young man sank until death came to his relief on Saturday morning. A short service was held on Sunday last by Rev. Mr. Nie, of Hornby, and Rev. Mr. Potter, of Georgetown, after which the remains were conveyed to his father's home in Terra Cotta, from which place interment took place on Monday. - Featured Link
