- The Late Donald Kennedy.
At the ripe old age of eighty-six years, Donald Kennedy, for over forty years a resident of Acton, died in Toronto last Saturday morning. The remains were brought to Acton on Sunday and the funeral was held from the home of Mr. Angus Kennedy, Main Street, the eldest son of the deceased, on Tuesday morning. At 9.30 the cortege proceeded to St. Joseph's Church, where requiem mass was said by Rev. Father Feeney, after which the remains were conveyed to the Dublin Cemetery for interment. Donald Kennedy was a native of Invernesshire, Scotland, where he was born in 1820. He married in his native shire and came to America when thirty-six, settling in Acton. Almost continuously since he was resident here, and was always esteemed as a good citizen. The last year he spent in Toronto. Mrs. Kennedy died a number of years ago. The following members of the family survive: Mrs. Matthew McCann, Bracebridge; Mrs. John Gibbons, Toronto; Mrs. Christina McCarty, New York City, and Messrs. Angus and John here in Acton. - Media Type
