Charles Reddy, Went Under the Ice
While Breaking a Blockade.
A sad drowning accident occurred at Glenwilliams on Tuesday morning in which Charlie Reddy lost his life. While a number of men who engaged in fighting the ice blockade on Sykes' dam the unfortunate man slipped and fell in the wild waters, and, in spite of all that could be done by the men, he could not be rescued. The body was swept down the river under the ice. Deceased was a stone mason, about forty years of age. He leaves a wife but no children. He was an enthusiastic Orangeman and a member of St. Alban's Church of England at the Glen. - Media Type
