- The Late Mr. McNamara.
Referring to the late G. W. L. McNamara the Bay City Tribune says: He was born in Niagara, Canada, in 1817, his father coming from Ireland in 1812, as a purser on one of his majesty's ships, and settling there. He married Miss Mary Secord, of Hamilton, daughter of Major Secord. Mrs. McNamara predeceased him in 1888. Five sons and four daughters were born. Mr. McNamara moved to Bay City in 1864 and resided there until his death. He left three children, 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grand children. Mr. McNamara was an uncle of Mr. Alex. A.
