A Former Resident Passed Away.
Saskatoon papers reached town on Monday giving the sad information of the death in that city on Friday, 20th February, of Mr. Clinton T. Faulkner, who occupied the position of City Treasurer. Mr. Faulkner had been ill from typhoid fever for about a month. A pahetic side of the solemn event is the fact that the daughter of the deceased is lying in the hospital suffering from the same ailment. The funeral was largely attended, and was conducted by Bishop Newnham, assisted by Rev. E. B. Smith, Rev. Mr. Likeman and Rev. Mr. Davis, rector of St. John's Church, where deceased was a member. Mr. Faulkner spent several years in Acton after coming to Canada from his boyhood's home in Reading, near London, Eng. He left Acton with his wife and one babe sixteen years ago. His widow, one daughter and three sons survive. Referring to the deceased the Evening Capital says; "In the death of City Treasurer C. T. Faulkner the city loses one of its oldest and most valuable citizens, and a trust worthy and capable official. The circumstances surrounding his demise are most pathetic, and his family have the sincere sympathy of the citizens."
