CHURCHILL.
It is a very rare occurrence to have two interments in the cemetery here within a week, but such was the case the past week. On Friday the remains of Mrs. John Gibbons were laid at rest and on Monday the interment of the late George H. Snyder was made there.
Mrs. Gibbons was one of the oldest residents of the vicinity. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Swackhamer, and was born near Beamsville ninety years ago. When about twenty years of age she came with her parents to the farm, lot 32, Con. 4, Esquesing. About sixty-five years ago she was joined in wedlock to the late John Gibbons, who pre-deceased her by some fourteen years. Three sons and a daughter survive: Mr. Robert Gibbons, Crewsons Corners, Albert of Erin and Harry on the homestead, and Mrs. Wm. Sayers, Acton. Mrs. Gibbons was a woman much esteemed. She was one of the first members of the Congregational Church, Churchill, and was a faithful member until her death. The funeral last Friday was conducted by Rev. Mr. Gott, in the absence of Rev. H. A. G. Willoughby, her pastor.
