Death of James Quantic
A good man and a highly esteemed citizen was called away last week when James Quantic breathed his last. He was in poor health for some time and this developed into typhoid a couple of weeks before his death, but neither his family nor himself realized until a few days before the end his serious condition. Mr. Quantic was a native of Devonshire, England, and came to Canada about forty years ago. He was married in 1878 to Miss Maggie Mann, daughter of the late Peter Mann. Mrs. Quantic and two children, Charles, with the Canadian Northern Railway, and Miss Annie May at home, survive. Mr. Quantic was a man of sterling character, industrious and neighborly, and his pretty farm of 25 acres on the easterly limits of the town, has always been admired. The funeral on Saturday was largely attended. Mrs. Quantic has been doubly bereft having lost her mother and husband within two weeks.
