- Death of William P. Campbell
William P. Campbell, contractor, died at his home at 563 Logan Ave., Toronto, on Saturday morning. He was attacked with appendicitits a week or so ago. An operation was performed, but the surgeons found complications rendering it impossible to remove the cause of the trouble. Mr. Campbell was a native of Erin Township, being born there in 1845. He married Sarah Ann Allan, daughter of the late Joseph Allan, of the second line, Erin, who survives him. Seven sons and three daughters were born into the home, of whom the following survive: W. J., and Robert Wilson, Erin; Leonard in Toronto; Allan in Johnstown, N.Y., Florence and Annie, at home, all of whom attended the funeral which was held in Acton on Tuesday upon arrival of the 2.25 p.m. train from Toronto. Rev. Dr. Antliff conducted the service. Mr. Campbell was an energetic business man, and was a contractor and builder. He resided in Acton a number of years and built twenty-five or thirty houses here, principally in Cook's survey on Mt. Campbell. These were erected at the time when Acton was greatly in need of additional dwellings. Eight or nine years ago he removed to Toronto, where he has built and sold a number of houses. He was engaged in the erection of three houses at the time when seized with his last illness. General sympathy is expressed here for Mrs. Campbell and family upon the death of the head of the home when his life was full of activity and helpfulness. - Featured Link
