Killed by a Toronto Street Car
While crossing Avenue Road at Bernard Avenue, Toronto, during the heavy fog, at 7.45 last Thursday night, Mrs. Albert Whale, of 112 Hezelton Avenue, was struck and instantly killed by a northbound Dupont car. For several hours the identity of Mrs. Whale was not known. Her son was in the vicinity shortly after the accident and saw the crowd which had gathered near the street car. He continued on his way. When his mother had not returned at 11.30, he walked to the Bates Burial Co.'s undertaking establishment on Avenue Road, and learned that it was his mother who had been killed. Mrs. Whale was a niece of Mrs. Robert McPherson, west Bower Avenue, Acton. Mrs. McPherson went to the city immediately upon learning of the sad fatality and remained with the family until yesterday.
