Watson, Henry

Henry Watson, an esteemed resident of this village, who was employed by the C.P.R. at the Junction, met with instant death by being run over with a yard engine last Tuesday, 7th inst. Mr. Watson was walking home from his work at the water tank after six o'clock. As he crossed the tracks a yard engine which he had not noticed backed down upon him. He was killed instantly. The deceased was 60 years of age and had been in the employ of the C.P.R. for about two years. He was a native of Nassagaweya, and had lived there all his life. He is survived by his wife, seven brothers, James and George, of Rockwood; Samuel and Charles, of Wiarton; John, of Winnipeg; Richard, of Strabane, and William, of Campbellville; three sisters, Mrs. Shadwell, of Lowville; Mrs. Churchill, of Kilbride, and Mrs. Hearns of Strabane. The funeral on Thursday afternoon was very largely attended.
