- IN MEMORIAM
JOHN GRAHAM
After a long period of illness there passed away last Friday evening one who has been closely associated with Acton for over sixty years, in the person of John Graham. For several years Mr. Graham has made his home with his nephew, Mr. John C. Hill. During his declining months tender and loving care were bestowed by his nephews and nieces. Deceased was a son of the late James Graham, of Steetsville. He was an expert carpenter and assisted in the erection of numerous buildings in Acton. Among these were the store of his brother-in-law, the late Charles T. Hill, sixty-two years ago; the late Dr. McGarvin's drug store and the Methodist Church. During the erection of the Government building he was employed on the work there. Part of his life he spent at Wallaceburg and in Michigan. He was a brother of the late Willliam Graham and Mrs. Charles T. Hill. One brother and one sister survive him, Mr. James Graham, Toronto, and Mrs. James Matthews, Acton. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon to Fairview Cemetery, Rev. I. M. Meyer officiating. Friends from a distance attended the funeral as follows: Mr. James Graham, Streetsville; Miss Isabella Graham, Toronto; Messrs. Chas. E. Hill and Ezra Hill, Peru; Mrs. N. R. Lindsay, And Mrs. (Dr.) Lawry, Guelph. - Featured Link
