Both in 2009 and 2011 the Oakville Army Cadets have proudly performed this all night Silent Vigil at the Oakville Cenotaph, on the 10th of November.
In 2011 more than 35 cadets took turns throughout the night and stood as an honour guard in silence, to bring awareness to those Canadians that fought so bravely for our country: Canada.
The cadets especially focused on their fallen comrade Colonel Geoff Parker,CD who was the 145th CF member killed in Afghanistan. As a youth Colonel Parker was also a member of the Oakville Army Cadets. www.oakvillearmycadets.ca
