- Photo may have been taken by and is associated with William (Bill) Charles Cutmore. He volunteered for the First Special Service Force, a secret joint Canadian-American force nicknamed "The Devil's Brigade," which trained for paratrooping and sabotage missions behind enemy lines. Bill was with the Force from its mission in Kiska, Alaska, to its last mission in Menton, where he was killed in action in 1944.
