- Enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve in 1941 as an Ordinary Seaman and trained as an ASDIC (Anti-Submarine Detector). Served in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the North Atlantic in minesweepers and corvettes, promoted to Sub-Lieutenant in 1943. Geoffrey and his wife, Joy, moved to Oakville in the 1980s.
