Had Cider Mill in Oakville for Years -- Known as "Cider King"

After a lengthy illness Samuel Patterson passed away at his residence in Toronto in his seventy-third year. Following a service at the residence the remains were conveyed to Oakville on Wednesday afternoon and interment was in St. Jude's cemetery.

Mr. Patterson for nearly fifty years was a manufacturer of cider and vinegar. He has operated a cider mill here for much of that time and lived in town a number of years, some years only in summer and autumn. He bought large quantities of apples and engaged quite a number of helpers in making the cider.

Mr. Patterson married Eliza Dever in Picton and two years ago celebrated their golden wedding. Mrs. Patterson survives as well as three daughters, Mrs. Geo. MacNeill, of Oakville; Mrs. J. C. Duff, of Kingston, and Mrs. W. D. Lynch, of Toronto.
