The filming took part dur- ing the late summer and early fall last year. Krouglow said each consisted of up to 16 hours of filming, though some were as short as eight hours. Its actually not very tir- ing because the majority of your day youre sitting in holding. So they have a big tent set up for you. For some reason the movie catering company loves to provide peanut butter jelly sandwich- es and little biscuits and bags of oranges and apples and tea and coffee and water. Youre pretty much just hanging about, doing whatever you want. You just cant have your cell phone on you, he said. Krouglow said he was also among others around his age, saying there were close to 100 extras, and his band mates. During the Haliburton shooting, the extras stayed in an actual camp, in tents and lodges, for several days. However, by the time the film began shooting in Toronto, it had gotten very cold that fall. The film was set in the summer time but hed wear numerous layers of clothing and jackets. This is supposed to be a summer scene so when we actually started taking the scene, I had to take my parka off, he said. Also you could see peoples breaths so they had a fog machine for the whole thing so the whole place was kind of foggy. In between takes he and the other extras hud- dled around tubes that blew hot air and inside small tents with heaters to warm up. The film will air Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. in Canada and the U.S. www.hsc.on.ca | 905-389-1367 | 299 Fennell Ave. West, Hamilton We have been providing exceptional, full-day, early education programs for decades.
