The Oakville Santa Claus Paradeis launching its annual colour-ing contest, created again this year by award-winning cartoonist Steve Nease, Pud creator. Children ages five and 10 will have the chance to win the seat beside Mrs. Claus and ride alongside the Parade Grand Marshall. Children ages three and four will have the chance to win a prize for their age group. The colouring contest is now avail- able online and will appear in the Oakville Beavers Kids Section Nov. 4. Children can colour a picture cele- brating A Reel Christmas at the Movies, this years parade theme. Drop by Kerr Street on Saturday, Oct. 23 from noon to 6 p.m. when the Oakville Santa Claus Parade booth will have lots of giveaways, free face paint- ing at Kerr Village Halloween Happenings. The Kinsmen Club of Oakville will have candy floss and kids can take part in a Scavenger Hunt. Kids will get the chance to win a ride in the window of Santa's float or light the Christmas tree at the Kerr Village annual tree lighting. The Kerr Village BIA is once again partnering with the Santa Claus Parade. The Kerr Village BIA has been a strong supporter of the Parade since day one we are a Gold Sponsor of the parade this year, said John Marlatt, special events chair, Kerr Village BIA. It is only natural for us to once again partner with the parade to offer children these once-in- a-lifetime memories.
