Nominations will close Friday, Oct. 29 for the YMCA of Oakville Peace Medallion. The YMCA of Oakville will recog- nize two local peacemakers during YMCA Peace Week at its annual Community Breakfast for Peace on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Two exceptional community lead- ers one, a youth (11-29 years) and one adult (aged 30 or more) who work on a voluntary basis to find peaceful solutions to violence, conflict and injustice will be celebrated and award- ed YMCA Peace medallions. The Community Breakfast for Peace will be held on Nov. 24 at the YMCA of Oakville at 410 Rebecca St. It will include breakfast and the peace medallion ceremony and youth expo. Tickets for the Community Breakfast for Peace will be available as of Nov. 1 at the YMCA of Oakville. Tickets cost $12 each or $108 for a table of 10. Nominate someone for peace medallion Spooky Caper Car Rally A Halloween Caper Car Rally on Saturday, Oct. 30 will be hosted by the Zonta Club of Oakville to raise funds in support of womens health and support services in Oakville and Halton. Those interested in attending can dress in their spookiest attire and they may win the Best Costume door prize. There will be tricks, treats and witches brew (a cash bar) post rally to celebrate.
