Joining or forming a book club at any age can be a fun and rewarding experience. At Oakville Public Library we have all types of Book Clubs, designed to suit your needs and books to suit your taste. Our fall registration has already begun so spaces are limited. Join our Adult Book Club and experience discussions led by our team of knowledgeable librarians. Book Club sessions run once a month from October to April, excluding December. Included in your registra- tion fee is a ticket to An Evening for Book Lovers on Sept. 29, at which you will have the chance to vote on four of the six titles the clubs will read during the 2010- 2011 season. Cost for the session is $40 and all books are provided for borrowing during the Book Club - registration is through IRIS at www.oakville.ca. Its the perfect event for book clubs planning their year, or just for decid- ing what to read on your own. Participants can enter for a chance to win a complete library of the 22 books discussed. Tickets are available at all branch- es for $10 and you must be 19 years or older, dessert and coffee is includ- ed in ticket price and there will be a cash bar available. OPLs Teen Book Club is run by teens for teens you can join your fellow high school stu- dents and discuss books centred on Urban Life/Street Lit for this Teen Book Club session. The information meeting and new member registration takes place on Oct. 19 from 7-8 p.m. at Central Branch, and the club then meets in November, December, January, March, April, and May. It is great fun and refreshments are served so come join us! For a really easy way to be part of a book club, why not try our Email Book Clubs?
