While the idea of winning a national or world com- petition may be appealing to them as high achievers, they have always followed this idea: If you can help guide someones character choices as a young child, they can find their way to be great in anything they choose, says Allain Lupien. The results are inevitably always true. Graduate after graduate they complete their dance education with CDC and continue on to University for the profession of their choice, they take with them the life skills, the quality of their behavior and a collection of ideals that give them an edge to conquer lifes chal- lenges. Most students continue to dance in some capac- ity (join the school dance team or club) and some con- tinue on to universities for dance like Julliard and Point Park, and then commit to their passion as a career like Noah Long second soloist with the National Ballet Company. Continued on page 24 dance in their local area together and to the rest of the world. Returning from the Showstopper American Dance Championships in Myrtle Beach S.C. in July, as four-time national champions in the senior category, Its no surprise that theres a full support team heavily based on family. Allain and Dawn Lupien (Co-Directors of the Oakville based School) started as dance partners and then opened CDC. Their children Samantha (Head Studio Administrator/Choreographer), Lindsay (Teacher/Choreographer) Tabitha (Teacher/Choreographer), Isaac (Student/Assistant) have grown up in the studio with the same philosophy that started their whole endeavor.
