Children whose favourite teddy bear or doll have an injury that needs fixing can attend a free event where St. John Ambulance personnel can do the mending. The Teddy Bear Triage takes place at the Oakville Fire Departments Fire Prevention Week kick-off event on Saturday, Sept. 25 at its Fire Training Campus. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. St. Johns trained medical staff and first response vol- unteers will be on hand to fix the toys bruises, scrapes and cuts. All stuffed hand toys and dolls are welcome. The charitable St. John Ambulance has more than 4,000 volunteers contributing to community service every year. It offers such programs as medical first response, youth programs and therapy dog services. The proceeds from St. John Ambulances first aid training and first aid product sales directly support these programs. The training campus is located at 1144 South Service Rd. W.
