To celebrate Healthy Workplace Month, Halton Region is hosting a breakfast event that will recognize local businesses that have made a commitment to healthy living. The event is on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The recipients of the 2010 Eat Smart Cafeteria award will be recognized during the event and the meeting will also be of interest to human resource profes- sionals, occupational health nurses, union leaders, health and safety and wellness committee representatives, or anyone who would like to cele- brate healthy change in their work- place. During the event, attendees will hear from speaker and author Carole Bertuzzi Luciani. A professional speaker for close to 25 years, Luciani draws on her experience in educa- tion, health care, public relations and recreation to deliver sessions that are both thought provoking and highly entertaining. If you havent already, now is the perfect opportunity to introduce workplace health to your organiza- tion, said Dr. Bob Nosal, Haltons medical officer of health. Healthy workplaces focus on healthy lifestyles, occupational health and safety, and organizational culture.
