25 Thursday , Septem ber 30, 2010 O A KVILLE BEA V ER w w w .o akvillebeaver .co m If the Southwestern Ontario Football Association of Leagues had a fantasy league, Will Ellis would make a lot of owners happy. Ellis was a touchdown machine last weekend, reaching the end zone six times as the Halton Cowboys bantam white squad rolled to a 45-22 win over the Cambridge Wolverines. One of those touchdowns came on a 110- yard return. Brandon Roberts and Andre Pinto added the extra points for Halton, which improved to 4-1 on the season. Haltons other four clubs went down to defeat last weekend. The tyke Cowboys were dropped 46-25 by Mississauga, the atom white Cowboys lost 20-6 to Cambridge, the peewee white squad fell 19-6 to Guelph and the peewee red Cowboys were downed 39-6 by Brampton. Brandon Hughes and Zach Baldin had strong games on the offensive line for the Halton tykes, while Danial Rhooms returned a kickoff for a touchdown for the sec- ond straight week. Cain Richards completed three of four pass attempts. The atom white Cowboys Evan Elliot and Tyrell Lawrence com- bined for three quarterback sacks in their loss. Simon Black scored Haltons lone touchdown, and Christian McLaren had a 40-yard punt return. Haltons peewee white team was within a touchdown of Guelph until late in the fourth quarter, when the Bears intercepted a pass and then put the game away with a major. Aaron Lewis, Glenn Hewitt and Tate Sharpe led a strong effort from the Cowboys defence, while Jordyn Gallardo, Ryan Rizu and Lucas Montgomery were sharp on offence. Jack Berczi recovered an onside kick for Halton as well. The peewee red Cowboys accom- plished something only one other team had done this season: scoring against undefeated Brampton. Andrew McLean ran down the left sideline into the end zone after Halton recovered a Brampton fum- ble in the fourth quarter.
