The bakery has been a well- known part of the downtown area for 25 years. Two months ago, owners Mazda Ekbatani and his wife Sheila acquired the bakery and made their focus to revamp the menu, look and atmosphere of the caf Having been to Paris and the love for their bakery goods, we really wanted to bring the same experience back home to Oakville, says Ekbatani. We wanted to bring on a new look and menu selections that is in line with the French patisseries of Paris. The extensive renovations and the owners focus to customer serv- ice have renewed interest in the busi- ness, says Ekbatani. Purchasing the store was the first step for the couple, followed by an overhaul of the interi- or and exterior, as well as a major transformation of the menu. The Parisian-feeling bakery offers breakfast and quick lunches, as well as a variety of breads and desserts, including brioche, chocolate airs, cupcakes, tea, coffee, and, of course, an assortment of hand-rolled crois- sants. The seasonal lunch menu fea- turing salads, soups, quiche, sand- wiches and artisan pizzas. Croissant Express Bakerys aim is to focus on traditional baking, using quality ingredients to provide their customers with exceptional crois- sants and pastries. The delicious baked goods are freshly made twice a day, every day and anything that is still available at the end of the day is collected, frozen and donated to the Salvation Army. All our French baked goods are made in traditional style with no preservatives or additives, Ekbatani says, making us one of the few bak- eries that still makes hand-made croissants. Quality is very important to us. Croissant Express Bakery, locat- ed at 325 Lakeshore Road East, is open 365 days a year from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Their menu items range in price from $1.50 to $14.99 for drinks, treats and meals.
