Police said at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, mall security spotted a man running from the mall with stolen property from The Bay under his arm. Mall security called police and a search for the man began. Around this time, police received multiple calls from homeowners and citizens who reported sightings of a man jumping over nearby fences and running through backyards. This allowed police to narrow their search and a police canine unit was finally able to track the man down. A man was arrested without incident and the property from The Bay valued at $250 was recovered and returned. Brian Bellefleur, 34, of Oakville has been charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
