13 Friday , O ctober 29, 2010 O A KVILLE BEA V ER w w w .o akvillebeaver .co m Help those in need If youve fallen on hard times, youre not alone. There is a mother of four who fled an abusive husband with her children and is trying to start a new life. Someone else lost a job and now cant pay the bills. Another, is suffering con- fusion of thought and memory. Many of us have never had to use the service of a United Way agency, but life is unpredictable and fragile and you never know when your circumstances may change. Everyone deserves to live a life with dignity. The agency programs and serv- ices supported by United Way of Oakville help people in need, and as a result, ensure a healthier community for us all. Consider this: $25 will provide 5 children in need with a nutritious breakfast, lunch or snack at their school. $100 will provide 2 seniors suffer- ing from dementia and other illnesses with therapeutic programs. $1 a day (or $365/year) will pro- vide 32 people suffering from depres- sion, attempted suicide, loneliness and other issues with support through a telephone crisis line. Your support helps us ensure that we continue to meet the critical needs of our community. So when someone a friend, a family member, a cowork- er is facing one of lifes more serious challenges, they will have somewhere to turn. We are extremely proud of our agen- cies and the work they do, and want you to know that they are there for you, should you or someone you know ever need a hand. This year, United Way of Oakvilles campaign goal is $3.6 million. Help us reach our goal. For information visit www.uwoakville.org or call 905-845- 5571. Thank you for your support.
