IRONSIDE: Richard Richard Ironside passed away on April 19, 2006 after a courageous struggle with liver disease. He is survived by his wife, Gina Ben- nett; daughters Sytel and Rhia; his mother Tanis; brothers Jim and Neil; sisters Diane and Laurie. He was 59 years old. Richard was a true cross-country Canadian. Born in Toronto, he spent his growing up years in Southern Ontario. As a young man, he worked in a gold mine in the Northwest Territories before attending the University of Lethbridge and Simon Fraser University. Later he moved to Nova Scotia where he lived with his growing family for 17 years in Lunenburg County and Halifax- Dartmouth region. In 1996. He moved with is family back to BC and settled in the East Kootenays. As a young man, Richard com- pleted a coast to coast kayak trip. He also purchased a small airplane and rebuilt it all the way up from the air frame. Later he flew this plane across the country several times. As a young father, be built from scratch, a house for his fam- ily in Nova Scotia. He worked for a number of years in the nonprofit sector and ran his small flight school near Cranbrook, BC. He also volunteered with the Air Cadets and Search and Rescue organizations. PIERCE: Kimberly Ann The family of Kim Pierce sadly announces her sudden passing at her home in Campbellville on Friday August 25th, 2006, at age 36.
