Despite heavy rains and their screened tent cart-wheeling down Hwy 7 due to winds, the Buzz for Ben was an overwhelming success! A caring and generous Acton helped Noah Mac- Donald and his brothers Jesse, Aaron, Elijah and Jonah raise over $1,500 on that wet day. Mandy Dixon of Mandys Hair Creation lifted off the locks of the boys and other determined supporters. People came by and dropped off donations and enjoyed what may be the dampest BBQ of the sea- son. Based on a timeline that allows four weeks for fi- nalization of the financial documents, site plan ap- proval and issuing of permits, resulting in a construction beginning in early to mid- October with the building finished in May or June with an official grand opening for the 2007 Acton Fall Fair. A highlight of this years fair will be the groundbreak- ing ceremony for the new building, slated for 2 p.m. on September 16.
