Thats what Dale Hewitt would like for this week- ends Acton Fall Fair the 93rd edition. It would take a torrential downpour to dampen the spirits of Hewitt, president of the Acton Agricultural Societys board of direc- tors and the small army of volunteers who make the fair happen, because this is the last year without a building. A special ceremony will be held after Saturdays pa- rade to turn the sod for the new building, to replace the old Acton arena, that will house the fair and indoor soccer. Dale Hewitt The theme of this years fair is Mooving On and after eight years of staging events like Miss Acton, the baby show and the Home- craft division under tents on the tennis courts, officials are more than ready for a brand-new building. As Hewitt, a former 4-H Club member, and other fair board directors began turn- ing the park into a fairground on Saturday morning he was thankful to all of the people who make the fair happen. Id like to see a big turn- out after all of the work that has gone into this weekend, Hewitt said, adding the fair has always been special for him. A fair board director for six years, Hewitt said he was lucky to be involved at an exciting time with the new building finally being approved.
