It wouldnt be fair to any candidate that I continue to get air time writing about local politics. I enjoyed the feed- back, both good and bad, from many of you over the past term. Sometimes we shared the same opinion, and other times, well, we just agreed to disagree. Ive tried to keep my columns and thoughts real. Please be sure that your name is on the Voters List, and be sure that you vote on November 13. * * * * Fall is a very busy time for our local Acton and Georgetown Seniors Cen- tres as they kick off their new programs and services. If you are a senior and would like membership information to participate in the many activities be- ing offered, call the Acton Seniors Recreation Centre at 519-853-5951 or the Georgetown District Seniors Centre at 905-877-6444. * * * * Dont miss the Celebra- tion of Arts in Halton Hills with special events, perfor- mances, and The Many Faces of Halton Hills art exhibition in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Halton Hills Cultural Centre that will take place October 13 to 22. For information, please call 905-877-7915. * * * * Congratulations are in order to the coaches and players of the Halton Hills Bull Dogs lacrosse team, winners of the National Field Lacrosse Champion- ship Games recently held in Victoria, B.C. This team is made up of boys from both Acton and Georgetown. Halton Hills is proud of your dedication, hard work, and victory! * * * * Dont forget that with schools now open, we must take extra caution to ensure the safety of children as they travel to and from school. * * * * Not only does the month of September start a new school year, it also is a special time to enjoy our Fall Fairs. I hope every- one had an opportunity to attend Georgetowns 130th Fall Fair, and Actons 93rd Fall Fair. Thanks to the fair boards, agricultural societ- ies, exhibitors, volunteers, and patrons for making these events so successful. * * * * Local artist, William Band, is presently display- ing his works of art on the Mayors Showcase. * * * * Keeping i t r ea l !
