Christine and her fiancScott Blythe will be- come the first winners of the Bluewater Health Dream Home to actually retain ownership of the dream home. The couple, who currently live in Acton, will move to Brights Grove, near Sarnia, to take possession of their beautiful new open-concept house that comes with all the bells and whistles everything from a central vacuum system to an intercom with built-in speakers throughout the house; a home valued at between $375,000 to $400,000. The winning ticket was purchased under the company name, ActiveEars, Christines business that employs nine people in four loca- tions: Sarnia, Goderich, Hanover and Acton. Actually, Christine admits to purchasing seven lottery tickets, most on the day of the draw! She credits her win to positive thinking, this year I was thinking positive! I just had to get more tickets. Christine and her three brothers were raised in Sarnia, and she and Scott were planning to eventually move back to the area, but as she mused The future tells me though that I will be spending a lot more time in Sarnia at our new home. We plan on moving into our new house, even though we cant afford to get any furniture right now. Wellington OPP officers conducting snow vehicle patrols over the weekend checked about 340 snow machine operators and laid two charges one for fail- ing to display registration numbers and the other for failing to display evidence of a permit. Officers patrolled 392 kilometres in the Erin, Hill- sburgh, Elora, Arthur and Palmerston areas on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) trails. On Monday, Town Coun- cils in Halton Hills and Oakville passed resolu- tions advising the province they cannot accommodate the growth targets in the provinces Place to Grow Plan without money to pay for existing and future infrastructure needs. Davey, who moved to Tanners Drive in the Devon Place subdivi- sion two years ago from Mississauga, hopes going public with her fight with City Wide Paving will convince the firm to return a $1,500 prog- ress payment on the $3,350 job that Davey contracted for last April. The work was to be complete by the end of June, and Davey said against her instincts she gave the company $1,500 as a progress pay- ment in late July.
