When they took down the old arena, that hurt, and although the new arena is bigger and better, we need more arenas and park space. Clint Peacock, Acton We need more arenas and we need more room for the seniors here in Acton. We need more facilities to encourage all people, not just kids, to be active as they get older. Jim Warrington, Acton I think the Parks and Rec department is do- ing a great job and their plans over the next 10 or 15 years are very good and quite adequate. I hope they can fulfil them the public is asking for a lot of things. Doreen Poloz, Georgetown I think the Town should be doing more. Id like to see more arenas for chil- dren, more ball fields at a decent price and small splash places for chil- dren. The Town is studying the parks and recreations needs for the next decade. What does Halton Hills need? VOX POP Halton helps with business growth through seminar This spr ing, Hal ton Regions Business Devel- opment Centre will partner with the Business Develop- ment Bank of Canada (BDC) and RBC Royal Bank to present the Tool Box to Grow your Business semi- nar, a program that aims to help businesses understand the financing process. Companies need practi- cal and useful information on how to prepare for growing their business- es, said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. Halton is proud to partner with the Business Development Bank and RBC to give busi- ness owners the tools they need to plan for and finance growth. The seminar will be pre- sented on Thursday, May 24, from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Burlington. The fee for the seminar is $25, which includes breakfast. BDC and RBC experts and local professionals will take seminar participants through the process of pre- paring a clear plan to grow. They will focus first on identifying the information most relevant to demon- strating a companys real potential, and then on un- derstanding the financial requirements to complete the project. Finally, they will tell participants how to present the information to the bank to qualify for financing. The experts will be available after the semi- nar to talk one-on-one with participants. The main objective of this partnership is to help companies prepare to show banks what they want to see to secure financing, said John Davidson, Director of Business Development at Halton Region. The Tool Box seminar is valuable not only for small and medium- sized businesses who want to grow, but also for execu- tives and anybody else who wants to learn more about the financing process.
