On, Friday September 7, Acton Agricultural Society held a Donor Apprecia- tion Ceremony that also included the unveiling of the donor plaques mounted in the lobby of the Dufferin Rural Heritage Commu- nity Centre, the Societys new building in Prospect Park. Donors in the top five donor categories were presented with a plaque or certificate. The targeted goal for fundraising was $750,000, of which about 85% has been reached to date. Janis Fread was the MC for the evening, which included presentation in categories to Outstanding Community Builders, Com- munity Builders, Building and Community Benefac- tors. The Outstanding Com- munity Builders, plaques were presented by Norm Elliott, co-chair of the Its More Than Fair fundrais- ing committee, to Acton Agricul tural Society, Chapman and Purity Life Health Products, Dufferin Aggregates and the Town of Halton Hills received re- spectively by Fair President Dale Hewitt, Elyse Chap- man, Andrea Bouvrie and Mayor Rick Bonnette. Miss Acton Fair, Sarah OHearn presented Com- munity Builder plaques to Community Living North Halton, Drexler Construction, Georgetown Soccer Club and Mattamy Homes. Frank Hanes, 2nd vice- president of Acton Fair, presented awards to the builders including Acton East Housing, Acton Home Hardware, Al and Lois Fraser in honour of the Goy family, Giant Tiger Acton, Halton Compass, Charlotte Ironside, R&M Construction, Acton Tim Hortons and Peter and Lynn Zions.
