Sept. 30. The popular former teach- er, who resides with daughter Carol at their RR4 Acton home, taught for 30 years for the Esquesing School Board, 19 of them in one room rural schools from grades one to eight. Among them were Blue Mountain, Limehouse, Pinegrove, Stone School and Clay Hill in Erin Township. Unique among these who attended the event at Gellert were Mrs. Lawsons three older sisters, all of them nonagenarians, including Betty McIntosh of Welland, who will be 100 on Nov. 11, Lucile Barrett of Brampton, who will was 95 in May and Charlotte Alexander of Brampton, who was 93 yesterday (Oct. 10). It is noteworthy that Mrs. Lawson spent the last 10 years of her teaching career at Speyside School, nine of them under the late Principal Gary Dawkins of Acton. Long teaching careers run in the family. Daughter Car- ol spent 34 years as a teacher in the Halton system, 26 of them at Actons McKenzie- Smith Bennett School. The Lawson family has a long record of political affiliation with the Liberal party and Mrs. Lawson and daughter Carol were actively engaged in the provincial election, which ended yester- day (Oct. 10), with the vote.
