The show will include a medieval evening of fun, food and frivolity as the King and Queen of Actonia visit to enjoy the company of their loyal Acton subjects. The entertainment will in- clude contests and music will be provided to keep not only the royal couple happy, but their subjects as well. Rumours abound that the royal couple are seeking a suitor for their darling daughter, the Royal Prin- cess. Tickets for this unusual presentation, at $40, are available now with the dead- line of Saturday, Oct. 27. Early bird deadline is Oct. 20. Fewer tickets are avail- able for the dinner and show since the entertainment takes more of limited space. Dinner Theatre to welcome royalty DINNER THEATRE: Chief wench, Nell, and lady Pe- nelope, discuss the usefulness of these unusual objects as they prepare for the upcoming visit of the King and Queen of Actonia as the Acton Old Town Hall Dinner Theatre presents another evening of entertainment on Saturday, Nov. 3. Submitted photo Village by Arboretum for Acton proposed by Acton East Housing A submission from the Acton East Housing Corporation to develop an affordable plan for seniors housing in Acton along the lines of the Village by the Arboretum in Guelph was among submissions heard by Halton Hills Council at their meeting on the Sustainable Halton Plan. The plan would have a broad mix of housing ranging from rental apart- ments to condos, town homes, small single family units and includes a large multi-unit complex that could involve recreation and long term care options. It would be built in Acton East where Acton East Housing has 150 acres ready for development but now hampered by Greenbelt and water restrictions. Specific to our property which ex- tends along the current eastern urban boundary of the Acton area, in the ap- proval of our development by the Town we were required to provide access routes for roads to tie the adjoining area into the existing urban area. Halton Hills Hydro also required us to build in capacities to service this area, the sub- mission stated. The storm water pond facility was designed to accommodate this future development. Clearly, development to the east has been both preferred and contemplated. The submission suggested that lands in the former Beardmore property which lie within Actons urban bound- aries are unsuitable for housing could be swapped in the Greenbelt plan for their land. Acton is the only area within Halton that can be developed properly and uniquely as a haven for Haltons grow- ing senior population, the submission reads. The plan would see housing built to service the expanding needs in North Halton, offering worry free lifestyle and a wide range of amenities, allowing people to stay in their own community. Acton is a unique community within Halton and the GTA, the submission states and it has very real needs which must be addressed on a comprehensive basis under the umbrella of Sustainable Halton, the submission stated.
