The appointment completes the complement of superintendents on the senior administrative team, particularly those responsible for school operations. Following the retirement of Al Greyson earlier this year as super- intendent for the Student Services portfolio, the Board approved the assignment of Kathy Schaffer to the Student Services role meaning she vacated her role on the School Operations team. Dysons ap- pointment will mean the reassignment of a superintendent to this family of schools as part of the School Operation team. Tricia comes to Halton District School Board from the Simcoe County Board where she has served in a number of roles including: Principal of Special Education South West area; Principal of West Bayfield Elementary (K-8) School; Education Officer with the Min- istry of Education, Curriculum and Assessment Policy Branch. The Bid Euchre ladies were having a great time last Thursday, and I see they were passing around choco- late -covered almonds and liquorice allsorts (my favou- rite), to sweeten the game. Mary Irwin had two Mooners and Frances Hogenbirk one. Congratulations ladies. I know this is a long way off, but we all have such busy schedules, that I like to put things of interest in early, so you can mark your calendars. Were having a tree deco- rating party on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. We are inviting you to bring your grandchildren to help, and there will be entertainment and goodies. At the same time we will be holding a membership drive from 2 p.m. 4 p.m. This is a great opportunity to drop in and renew your membership, or become a member and join the fun. In January we will hold a new members tea, when we will get to meet everyone who became a member over the last few months. Pat Jones is still looking for a few people who can help at the front desk in either the morning or af- ternoon. Call the Centre or leave her a note if you can help in any way. I am trying to plan a trip to the Guelph Arboretum for a buffet dinner and show. I do need anyone interested to sign up as soon as possible, so I can book it. We might car pool or take a bus. There is a list of items needed for the bazaar tea at the front desk. Even if you arent able to volunteer to help, you can do your bit by donating items needed for the sandwiches, relishes, goodies etc. If you dont have a way of getting here easily, just call 519- 853- 5951 and ask the person at the front desk what is needed. She will be happy to put your name against something. Thinking of the Bazaar we are looking for gently used items, and Christmas decora- tions for Grannys Attic, hand-crafted items for the craft table, and especially baking for the bake table. We always have some wonder- ful baking, but it sells out really fast, so more would be great! This sounds like a long way off, but time flies. Our annual Christmas dinner will be on Friday, Dec. 7 with the same caterers as in past years. It has always been delicious. Joanne Bissonnette asked me to mention we have draw tickets at the reception desk for Santas Sleigh full of Goodies. Many thanks to Paul Bissonnette for making, and donating the beauti- ful wooden sleigh. There are also tickets for a lovely painting donated by our own Maria Sallay. Both draws will take place at the Christ- mas dinner. Last week the 50/50 was won by Bill Fox, and this week by Mary Walsma, our very hard working vice presi- dent, and chief bingo caller. Congratulations to both. QUARTER CENTURY CLUB: Mayor Rick Bonnette received an award for his 25 years of service to the Town of Halton Hills at a ceremony on October 18.
