Annette Kroezen scored the winning goal with only 0.3 seconds remaining in the game to finish a story book ending. Sharks goalie, Jen Swan, was brilliant all night. She thwarted Cougar sniper Carrie Gallant on a clear-cut breakaway in the first minute which set the tone for the game. Josey Bonnette gave the Sharks a 1 - 0 lead when she poked a rebound between Cougar goalie Janette Jen- sens legs. Angela Stiles and Jenifer Casarin drew assists. From that point on both goalies put on a show as they stymied opposition shooters all night. Jane Tivendale tied the game scoring on a goal mouth scramble with five minutes to go in the game. Carrie Gallant had the helper. Daina McKellar spotted Annette Kroezen in the clear and fed her a perfect pass. Kroezen made no mistake and fired the winner to give the Sharks the title in this 2 1 thrilling game. Sharks coach Rick Bon- nette stated after the game We played a disciplined game. It was an all round team effort. In the consolation game the Blue Lightning beat the Red Devils 5 3. Lightning had a quick 3 0 lead, but the Devils fought back and tied up the game 3 3. The Lightning scored two late period goals to seal the deal and take the victory. The Acton Ladies Hockey League would like to thank Ted Tyler and the staff at The New Tanner for the great coverage we had all year. The seasons over but we will be back in September!
